To be completely honest I had pretty low expectations coming into it, but against my initial thoughts, I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I think the art style in general is very fun and helps express the differences in the characters, despite the some what short-winded dialogue. The music gave me a pretty similar feeling, the songs were enjoyable and kind of bouncy, and were able to give off a vibe that you'd expect coming from the character you're interacting with. The gameplay itself wasn't too difficult, but still required you to focus, as not to mess up, which is always appreciated in a rhythm game. As mentioned before, the dialogue itself was a little short-winded, and in addition to that, some of the responses were a little bare boned. Of course I do understand that this is a demo and is still being worked on. Other than that I don't really have any criticisms. Some people may get offended by the FICTIONAL RECREATION of real people that the characters are, but personally I thought it was hilarious. I didn't actually pick up on it until the end when I was like "Oh! Now I get why it's called serial-lover" I think it's always fine to make a lighthearted joke out of bad situations as long as you aren't making fun of them explicitly or doing so maliciously. I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the final release. Keep up the good work!
There's no firm release date yet, but the game is very close to done! Hoping to release some time within in the next few months. Hopefully sooner than later!
As someone who doesn't really like visual novels, I thought the rhythm game sections would actually make the game bearable. That being said, the music is abhorrent, there's no going around that. It sounds like someone's first FLStudio session, and it made the rhythm game parts funny, but not very enjoyable. I also feel like it's kinda insensitive to romanticize serial killers, especially since the names are parodies of real-life murderers. That being said, the art direction is actually tolerable and my friend especially liked Adriana. The dialogue also leaves a lot to be desired, some characters are way too over-the-top and some choices that I assume are supposed to be funny or horny, just come off as cheesy or straight up kill you..
Overall I'm indifferent to the game, I like rhythm games but I don't really like visual novels. This game does neither of them well and I end up wondering why I'm not just playing Osu instead...
The music, writing, and rhythm sections have been touched up quite a bit since the demo, but I may need to give them another pass after reading your review haha. The names will also be changed for the final release.
I do hope you'll give the game another chance once it's complete, but regardless I appreciate the honesty.
good game, I liked this demo the only issue is I discovered my hands get super shaky when playing rhythm games don't hate the game hate the player I guess I had fun and it took me a few minutes to get the hang and basic rhythm of each song took me about 2-3 hours to be honest, still had fun.
I don't know what to think. I don't think I liked it.. especially the way Teddy was basically Ted Bundy and Jenny was basically Jeffery Dahmer. I feel like its kind of disrespectful because of many people died from them but thats just my opinion.. but i do like the idea of the names at the same time. the mini game is super hard to me and i almost rage quit LOL. but i do think its a good game
Very weird and fun concept. I like that each killer has a different soundtrack. Thank you for including key binds, I was able to find a layout that worked for me. Occasionally some of the notes felt a little off, but overall the gameplay worked well. Good job. : )
Not everbody is profissional at rhythm games. And you except poeple to be. What about making easy (I mean easy not your easy) and making it harder as game flows on,that way player can used to controls and not close the game in the start,hm?
im really hoping this game gets continued its really cool! and my favorite character so far is definingly edwina i love her design her personality and just her vibe and how Shes less killer than the rest at least so far
I LOVE THIS GAME. The music is so amazing to listen to and I love how each character has their own little song going. All the interactions and options can be so damn funny, and I love how the characters interact. Playing on 5 Keys was challenging but honestly super fun, and I can't wait to see more of this game. Ben is the best btw he is so cute
This game has left me quite surprised with the art and the how it plays. Although I personally think using 5 keys for the rhythm sections is a bit much. 4 keys would probably be a lot better and considerably less awkward for me to play. Unless I'm not understanding how I'm supposed to play with 5 keys, I'm used to 4 at most.
I really liked the demo. The characters look charismatic and the options are quite entertaining even if they lead to a bad end lol I appreciate that the rhythm game is not easy as some people ask for. If they put it on the level of Fortnite Rock Band I would just be so bored. It only remains to improve the fluidity and to be able to calibrate the notes but despite everything I expect more from Serial Lover.
Seriously, Im in love with the gameplay i love the killers, and the hilarious options you can take them too, However there should be a way to customize your key binds or go down to 4 keys instead of 6. Cant wait for the full release!
I think this game needs the option to name your saves. I don't know about the full game , but I don't think you can do that in the demo. I'm having a hard time finding all the dialogs with all my saves named "User save".

I've always really enjoyed rhythm games and the music within them and I just have to say that Edwina/s track was just phenomenal amazing work.
To be completely honest I had pretty low expectations coming into it, but against my initial thoughts, I was very pleasantly surprised by this.

I played it, and I liked it. When are you going to finish? just asking

it's not that hard...
tf if u cant play rythmn games then just dont play it? why u getting mad at the creator for?
*plays rhythm game, gets mad that rhythm game isn't a cakewalk*
dude not every rhythm game has the same threshold or starting point for skill. this one is just a bit higher
I LOVED IT! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
dont judge me but.. im waiting for the ben option on the sleep choice.. im a sucker for BL stories..
me too on Ben (as a straight female)
but I thought the player character was an ambiguous self-insert
really? Why does it have to be on Mac? I’m on iPad.
im really hoping this game gets continued its really cool! and my favorite character so far is definingly edwina i love her design her personality and just her vibe and how Shes less killer than the rest at least so far
why is it for Mac? I’m on iPhone.
Mac as in Macintosh and Macbook. if it was for iphone it would say ios.
Esta chido, no entendí nada porque no se ingles, pero esta chido. :) 👍
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed the demo!
I love this video so much. "I underestimated the goth pussy" is so good 😭
"It was too crazy." XD

Really enjoyed the DEMO what a cool game!!!!
Seriously, Im in love with the gameplay i love the killers, and the hilarious options you can take them too, However there should be a way to customize your key binds or go down to 4 keys instead of 6. Cant wait for the full release!
this game seems good but could you make it easier? because i keep dying almost every 5 secs (prolly just a skill issue but please make it easier)
relatable
Ahahaha I wasn't good enough at the beat game to live. I died every time.
I think this game needs the option to name your saves. I don't know about the full game , but I don't think you can do that in the demo. I'm having a hard time finding all the dialogs with all my saves named "User save".
